Our Learning Community

Our learning community is about bringing people together with shared learning goals who collaborate and connect with one another.  We share knowledge and resources, as well as support, with emphasis on good conversations, engagement and contribution from those whose participate. The different programmes we deliver through our learning community enables shared learning from both successful and unsuccessful experiences to deepen collective knowledge.

Getting to Grips with Self-directed support is a half-day training session all about the basics of self-directed support and covers the values, principles and processes. Read more..

Our quarterly network sessions are for people interested in self-directed support.  These sessions provide people with an opportunity to share examples of good practice from their work or lives and to bring challenges they might be facing for support and ideas to reach better solutions.  Read more..

Our lunchtime sessions are designed for anyone interested in self-directed support.  During these sessions we focus on topics of current interest, whilst focusing on the 'Seven Steps to Self-Directed Support.  Read more..

National SDS Collaboration

In Control Scotland is a member of the National SDS Collaboration. The Collaboration is a group of stakeholders involved in the implementation and improvement of self-directed support in Scotland. Meetings take place monthly on Microsoft Teams and focus on key updates from across social care, as well as progress towards the National SDS Improvement Plan. New Routes Home is a partnership of interested individuals and organisations across Scotland.
