Keith Etherington

Keith qualified as a Social Worker in 1982 and spent his time since then working in the voluntary sector as a practitioner and manager trying to develop and support services that work for people. His roles have included significant involvement in the development of new support for people leaving several long stay Hospitals and other institutions in Scotland. In August 2009, he started work as in Control Scotland National Co-ordinator, promoting the benefits of the in-control approach and the development of a sustainable system of self-directed support. Keith retired in 2023, but still continues to do some work with In Control Scotland as an associate. Since his retirement, he has enjoyed spending time with his wife, three grown up daughters and grand-daughters.
